Jennifer York has earned herself a stellar reputation in the business - the news business, that is. As an airborne traffic reporter for KTLA-TV/Los Angeles, York has won Emmy Awards not only for reporting traffic from her helicopter, but for reporting other news as well. Now she's ready to show the public a different side of her talents as she goes for adds with "Gotta Be Real/Best of
My Love Medley," the lead single from the Native Language compilation CD A Smooth Jazz Summer. The single is a cover that combines Cheryl Lynn's hit "Got to Be Real" with The Emotions' "Best of My Love." Produced by Brian Bromberg, the medley also features Eric Marienthal. As for York's part, she plays electric bass, her instrument of choice. And she's not an amateur by any means: She's been playing bass on the local Los Angeles circuit for 11 years. Currently, her album is in the works
